Mr. Henry Lee Shaw, age 84 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on November 11, 2011 at the Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia.

Funeral services for Mr. Shaw will be conducted at the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Scott Hannah officiating. The interment will follow at the Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Omaha, Alabama. The family will receive guests at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Shaw was born in Whiteson, Oregon on April 3, 1927, the son of the late Martha Olivia Phillips Shaw and Leon Henry Shaw. He was a Christian by faith. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Shaw was a drafter by trade, and drew up the blueprints of the very first C-5A aircraft that Lockheed built. During his lifetime he held many positions, such as logger, electrician, custodian, builder, dairy farmer, and locksmith. No job was too big or too small. Mr. Shaw was a "jack of all trades" and excelled at anything he tried. He loved his family and did whatever it took to provide for them. He was a member of the Civil Defense, the Centralhatchee Masonic Lodge #4403, and the Scottish American Military Society out of Columbus, Georgia. He always had a smile on his face, was willing to help anyone, and he knew no strangers. Mr. Hank will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Doris Estelle Morman Shaw of Franklin, GA.; one daughter and son-in-law, Olivia "Libby" Shaw Cummings and Steve Cummings also of Franklin, GA; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Leroy Shaw of Portland, OR; Jimmy Shaw of Portland, OR; Dennis Shaw of Franklin, GA.; and Tony and Kathy Shaw also of Franklin, Ga.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren (Tessa and Ashlee); siblings: Jean Creesy, Claudine Shaw, Barbara Howard, Marion Shaw (brother), Paulette Postell, Mary Belle Erickson, Evelyn Nilson, and Nancy Shroeder. He was preceeded in death by one sister, Alice.

Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia are in charge of arrangements.
