Henry Thomas "Tom" Poss, Sr. (January 24, 1822 - c1886) served as a private in Company H, 37th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee (also known as the Pettus Volunteers) during the American Civil War. He was the son of Henry Poss (c1777-1870) and Sarah Albert (1789-1884) of Taliaferro County, Georgia who are noted among the organizers of Carter's Grove Baptist Church in Taliaferro Co. He is buried in the Callaway Family Cemetery, Wilkes County, Georgia.
