Visitation for Daniel "Huey" Hazelwood will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. W.C. Burns officiating. Daniel "Huey" Hazelwood, Jr. born September 13, 1921 in Giddings, TX passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the age of 86 in The Woodlands, TX. He is survived by his children, Diana Laxson and husband Patrick of Huffman, Mary Jane Oatis and husband Homer Stanley of Conroe, Thomas Hazelwood of Conroe, Daniel Hazelwood of Conroe, and Minnie Kaatz and husband Norman of Conroe. He is also survived by Edna D. Hazelwood of Conroe. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Huey Hazelwood served during World War II in the 36th Armor Infantry Regimen Company F. He was only one of a few survivors that fought in the Battle of the Bulge earning him a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars in service to our country. Huey worked in the Conroe Oil Fields and retired from Texaco in 1978. Obtiuary as found in the Conroe Courier on November 6, 2007.
