Hugh Carolingian, Abbot of Saint-Quentin, Abbot of Lobbes, Abbot of Saint-Bertin, Archchancellor of the Holy Roman Empire, was born 802 to Charlemagne (747-814) and Regina (c780-) and died 844 of unspecified causes. Notable ancestors include Charlemagne (747-814). Ancestors are from Belgium, Germany, France.

Hugh was the abbot of several abbeys: Saint-Quentin (822-823), Lobbes (836), and Saint-Bertin (836). In 834, he was made Archchancellor of the Holy Roman Empire by his half-brother Louis the Pious.

Petronilla (825-?) may have been his daughter, but was probably the daughter of another prominent abbot, Hugh the Abbot.
