Hugh Eugene Stelson was born January 16, 1903, at Elmdale, Kansas. Graduate of Kansas Wesleyan Univesity, Salina, Ks, in 1925. He taught mathematic at Hedding College, Abingdon, Illinois; Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa; University of Iowa, Iowa City; Marshall College, Huntingdon, West Virginia; and Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvannia, all between 1925 and 1930; taught at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio 1930 to 1947; and at Michigan State University, East Lansing, 1947-1970, except one year at University of Hawaii, Honolulu. Married Ada May Woolley on June 4, 1925, at Osborne, Kansas. Has a PhD from University of Iowa.
