Obituary

The death occurred early yesterday morning at St. Vincent's Hospital, Bathurst, of Mr. Ilford Vivian Kable, of 80 Howick Street, Bathurst, at the age of 60 years. The deceased had been ailing for some time. He was born at Orton Park (Bathurst) and was a member of one of the pioneer families of the district, who first settled here over a century ago. The late Mr. Kable was employed for many years at the Bathurst railway perway department and was well known, and highly respected. The deceased was amongst the leading amateur lightning sketch artists and many of his caricatures were published in the National Advocate. Always cheerful and with a pleasing personality, the late Mr. Kable had many friends who will deeply regret his passing and extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved widow and family of one son Mr. L. V. Kable (Punchbowl), Mesdames H. Astley (Balgowlah), E. F. Campbell (Bathurst), and J. Warren (Cremorne). He is also survived by four brothers, Messrs. Ken, Claude, Rupert and George (all of Bathurst), and two sisters, Messrs. C. Freestone, (Bathurst) and L. Astley (Dubbo).
Two brothers, Messrs. Clem and Fred Kable predeceased him. The funeral will leave All Saints' Cathedral at 3.30 this afternoon for Holy Trinity Church Kelso. Mr. Cam Reed has charge of the funeral arrangement.
