|Spouse/Partner:||Alice Wright Boyd|
|Marriage:||31 October 1867|
Jabez was the son of William Boyton (1809-1874) arrived in Australia in 1851 on board the "Sarah". Jabez was born in Clavering, Essex and was 10 years old when he arrived with the rest of the family. On arrival, the Boyton's worked land near Campbelltown, west of Sydney and in the late 1850's or early 1860's moved by Bullock Dray to take up property in Nangus.
In 1867, Jabez married Alice Wright Boyd at Gundagai Court House.
During the 1860's Jabez worked as a teamster, delivering goods from Haymarket in Sydney to Hay using bullocks and drays. This proved profitable and Jabez was able to purchase a property outright in the hills near Nangus. He later swapped this property for another belonging to his brother Peter, ("Willowmead").
In 1893 Jabez sold the property in Nangus and took up a larger property near Illabo.
Jabez died in 1915 from cancer.
