James Brugge was living in July 1523. He married Ann (Atwood) the daughter of John Atte Woode and Elizabeth between 1480 and 1481 (probably 1480). In July 1523, James Brugge was a party to his son Henry's marriage agreement with Sibill Bromwich and her father James. James Brugge was the son of Simon Brugge of the Ley, Weobley. It is likely that there was another James Brugge in an earlier generation. A James Brugge was the King's Alnager for the County of Herefordshire excluding the City of Hereford.
