He served as a private in Co. E, 5th Regiment, Georgia State Troops from October 12, 1861 to May ??, 1862. He then served as a private in Co. G, 32nd Georgia Infantry. He spent time in a CSA Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina, from January 8, 1863 to January 12, 1863.
I wonder about the oldest child's birth year. I have no issue with her being born before her parents' marriage, but it is the combination of that and the gap between her birth and that of the next child that has me wondering. I have to go with the information at hand, though.
