James Frederick Geer, Jr. (June 22, 1856 - January 26, 1890), Penfield Postmaster, was born in Greene County, Georgia, son of Capt. James Frederick Geer (1824-1905) and Mary Bethany Callaway (1825-1908). He married in Greene County, Georgia December 12, 1883 Anna Tallulah Colclough (1855-1933) daughter of William Alexander Colclough (1827-1896) and Matilda James Moore (1833-1919) of Greene Co. He died in Penfield, Greene County, Georgia and is buried in Penfield Cemetery, Greene County, Georgia.

James Frederick Geer, Jr. and Anna Tallulah Colclough (1855-1933) were the parents of five children:

1. James Howard Geer (1884-1885). He buried in Penfield Cemetery, Greene County, Georgia.

2. William Frederick Geer (1885-1955) married March 18, 1922 in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia Ida Gilmore Fuller (1892-1981), daughter of Harrison Calvin Fuller (1852-1938) and Ida Gilmore Fooshe (1867-1892). They are buried in the Penfield Cemetery, Greene County, Georgia.

3. Mary Matilda Geer (1887-1936). She is buried in the Penfield Cemetery, Greene County, Georgia.

4. John Enoch Geer (1888-1937) married in Greene County, Georgia Mary Elizabeth McGibony (1891-1984), daughter of James Thomas McGibony (1869-1910) and Lesila I. "Essie" Mullins (1873-1961). They are buried in the Greensboro City Cemetery, Greene County, Georgia.

5. Hugh Bernard Geer (1890-1893). He is buried in the Penfield Cemetery, Greene County, Georgia.
