Jaunpur district is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh state of India, with Jaunpur town as the district headquarters. Jaunpur district is a part of Varanasi division.

Jaunpur district has 6 tahsils. These tahsils are Shahganj, Badlapur, Machhlishahr, Jaunpur, Mariahu and Kerakat. Jaunpur is the district headquarters.There are two rivers Gomati and Shai which flows and makes the land fertile around.it is one of the most densed rural district in UP.Jaunpuri's are very dynamic and migratory people.Every family has a single person migrated to Mumbai.This distrct of Uttar pradesh is most fertile
