Biography

Jerusha Parks Burdick was born 25 January 1809 in Scipio, Cayuga County, New York, United States to Benjamin Marvin Parke (1775-1860) and Lucy Lord (1783-1860) and died April 1883 Farmington, Davis County, Utah, United States of unspecified causes. She married Alden Burdick (1803-1845) 12 January 1826 in Athens, Athens County, Ohio.

Jerusha Parks Burdick, dau. ( prob. ) of Benjamin and Lucy ( Wilkenson or Clark ) Parks of Whitesboro, New York. She married in 1823 to Alden Burdick (1803-1845) and late in the early 1830's joined the newly formed LDS Church. Alden was a member of Zion's Camp (1834) and the 1st Quorum of Seventy.

With her family of 11 children, she emigrated to Utah about 1852. She lived for a time in Salt Lake City and supported her family by tailoring, later moving to Farmington, where she kept a boarding place.

She gradually gained a knowledge of medicine, which she practiced as her profession in Carson City, Nevada, and in California.

Later in life she returned to Farmington, Utah, where she died.
