Johann Christian von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Franzhagen was born 26 May 1607 in Beck to Alexander von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön (1573-1627) and Dorothea von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (1579-1639) and died 28 July 1653 in Sønderborg of unspecified causes. He married Anna von Oldenburg (1605-1668) 4 December 1634 .
