John Edwin Lindauer (1874-?) was institutionalized in an insane asylum. (b. January 12, 1874, Manhattan, New York County, New York, USA - d. unknown, Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey, USA)

He may be the same person as Edwin Charles Lindauer (1874-?).

He was born on January 12, 1874 as "Edwin Charles Lindauer" to Charles Lindauer (1840-?) and Caroline Ritter (1846-?) according to the International Genealogical index that indexed his birth record. According to his World War I draft registration he was born on January 12, 1874 and in 1981 he was using the name "John Edwin Lindauer" perhaps to honor his adoptive father.

Jersey City, New JerseyEdit

The family appears in the 1880 US census living Jersey City in the home of John Jacob Lindauer (1840-1888) and Nellie X (1853-1887).

In 1918 for the World War I draft registration he is at the Hudson County Insane Asylum.

He died sometime after 1918.

Researched and written by Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) for Findagrave starting on November 30, 2004.
