- John Granville Maupin, son of Charles and Nora Knerium Maupin was born June 5 1896 at Macon, Mo. and died Nov. 17 1968 at Grape Community Hospital at Hamburg at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 12 days. On March 14 1917 he was united in marriage to Gertrude Hays and to this union two children were born. Mr and Mrs Maupin celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary last year. He spent most of his life in this community where he had farmed. Survivors are his wife, Gertrude; a daughter, Mrs Maxine Slemp of Loveland, Colo.; and a son, Charles Maupin, Hamburg; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Williams, Hamburg; and a brother, Ralph Maupin of Memphis, Tenn.; other relatives and friends.
