Mr. John Hayes, of Blaxland's Flat, died on Tuesday, aged 69. He was a resident of that locality 30 years, having come from the Macleay.
He was many years ago manager of Guy Fawkes station. Mr. Hayes, who leaves a widow, nine sons and three daughters, was a resident that was held in very high esteem, was Chairman of the Local School Board, and in various ways strove to advance the portion of the district where he had made his home. He was a brother of Mr. Henry Hayes, of Wagga, and half-brother of Mr. Jas. Hayes, representative of the Murray in the Assembly.
Mr. John Hayes, a resident of Blaxland's Flat, since 1869, and many years earlier a pioneer in this district and the Macleay, died on Tuesday, aged 69 years. He was a native of Parramatta, and was a brother of Mr. Henry Hayes, of Wagga, and half brother to Mr. James Hayes, member for the Murray. He leaves an aged wife, nine sons and three daughters to mourn their loss, together with a very wide circle of friends.
