John William Sieler was born circa 1862 in Marulan, New South Wales, Australia to Conrad Sieler (c1827-1913) and Christina Smith (c1829-1905) and died 17 November 1929 St. John of God Hospital, Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Charlotte Alice Taylor (1865-1951) 1888 in Argyle, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituaries
The death occurred yesterday of Mr. John William Sieler, of Marulan, at the age of 67. Mr. Sieler had not been in the best of health for the last six months and death occured at St. John of God Hospital. Mr. Sieler was one of the oldest of the Marulan residents. He was born there and was a son of the late Mr. Conrad Sieler. He was a successful grazier and always took the keenest interest in the well-being of the township. He was a good sportsman and in his younger days was a fine cricketer, qualities which he bequeathed to two of his sons. He was a racing man in the sense that he loved racing for the sake of winning. His horses were always out to win. Only the other day his horse, Bavacre, won the Newcastle Cup. A member of the Church of England, he was always a willing and consistent helper of the work. He was well known throughout the district. He leave a widow, a daughter, Mrs. George Dedman, of Randwick, and three sons, Messrs. Leslie William, Stanley Rupert, and Aubrey Reginald. The funeral will leave the Church of England, Marulan, to-morrow at 11 a.m.
Mr. John William Sieler, 67, of Marulan, died in St. John of God Hospital, Goulburn, after a long illness. Mr. Sieler was bom at Marulan, where he was a successful grazier. He was a racehorse owner, and one of his horses, Bavacre, recently won the Newcastle Cup. He leaves three sons and a daughter, Mrs. George Dedman, of Randwick. One son, Aubrey, has represented the State in cricket and tennis, and Leslie has also represented the State at tennis. The former son was country tennis champion for a number of years.
