Karl von Hessen-Kassel, Landgraf von Hessen-Kassel, was born 19 December 1744 in Kassel, Hesse, Germany to Friedrich II. von Hessen-Kassel (1720-1785) and Mary of Great Britain (1723-1772) and died 17 August 1836 in Louisenlund, Güby, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany of unspecified causes. He married Luise of Denmark (1750-1831) 30 August 1766 in Christiansborg Palace, Copenhagen, Denmark.
