Khasako Dzugayev (August 1860 – c. August 1970) was probably the first supercentenarian from the USSR, although this country was only created after the Russian Revolution. He became the world's oldest man upon the death of William R. Lamb on April 22, 1969. Dzugayev was last known to be alive in August 1970, having just turned 110, but his age cannot be fully verified without knowing his exact date of death. His burial record says August 1970 but no exact date, but his grandson claims he lived to 115. He resided in present-day South Ossetia. Upon his death, Theophilus May became the oldest living man.
