Wikipedia: Search Wikipedia

The Langejans name was in a mid-18th century invention of Jan Berend Jan Langen, who - because his given name bore two Jans - dropped the Jans from his Christian name and added the suffix -jans to his surname, transforming Langen to Langejans. All who bear the name Langejans are either descendants of this line, or people from the region of Grafschaft-Bentheim, Germany, named in their honor: Langejans Gartens.

Fame came to the Langejans name with the birth of the Langejans brand of guitars, handmade by Delwyn Langejans in Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan.
