Early Life
Leendert Bakker was born at 4 am on 6 August 1825 in Alkemade, a municipality in South Holland. His parents were Jan Bakker, a gardener and Jannetje van Diemen. In addition to Leendert, their children were Klaas, Johannes (died in infancy), Johannes, Jan, Nicolaas, Antje and Pieter. Leendert was the youngest.
Marriage
Leendert married Gerarda van Steen at 9:15 in the morning of 25 April 1849 in Leiden, South Holland. Gerarda was three years Leendert's senior. They had eight children: Johanna (died in infancy), Johannes, Johanna, Maria, Leonardus, Petrus, Agatha and Jacoba.
Children
Career
Based on his children's birth records, Leendert was a milk seller. By his death Leendert was a milkman.
Death
Leendert Bakker died at 4 pm on 16 June 1866 in Leiden. He was only 40. Gerarda moved to Voorhout and remarried in 1877.
