Obituary

MRS. LOUISA MANTON

There passed away at Back Station Creek on Friday, at the residence of her daughter (Mrs. Jack Field), Mrs. Louisa Manton, relict of the late Alfred Manton, at the great age of 81 years,

The iate Mrs. Manton had been ailing for some time, and athough the end was somewhat sudden, it was not unexpected. All during her long illness deceased had the care and attention of her family.

The late Mrs. Manton resided in the Gundagai district for practically the whole of her life. She was greatly loved by all whose pleasure it was to know her; she was a wonderfully kind and unselfish lady.

The deceased reared a family of eight children, all of whome are living in the district. There are many grand-children. The family are:—Mrs. W, H. Sheather (Back Station Creek), Mrs. J. Worldon (Reno), Mrs J. Field (Back Creek), Mrs. A. Booby (Jackalas), and Mrs. Jack, Albert, Arthur (Back Creek), and Bert Manton (Jackalas). Mrs. Manton's husband predeceased her some six years ago.

The funeral took place on Sunday The interment took place in the North Gundagai Church of England cemetery, where the Rev. G. E. Mirris read the buriel service. The cortege was exthemely large, friends coming from distant parts to pay their last respects to a wonderful woman.
