Notes
Lucretia Brown was born in 1832 in Harston, Cambridgeshire. Her parents were Thomas Brown, a carrier and his wife Mary Elizabeth Flamell. Lucretia was christened on 8 July 1832 at Harston, along with her sisters Alicia and Letitia and brother George. She also had older siblings, William and Emma plus twins Amelia and Charles who were born on 2 February 1825 and baptised on 18 June 1826 in Cherry Hinton. Amelia Brown married Lucretia's husband, Francis Tivey's brother, William Tivey in 1855. The families were further linked when William and Amelia's son married Francis and Lucretia's daughter. Another point is that William and Amelia had a son named Tom Brown Tivey, indicating that Thomas Brown may have been known as Tom. Francis and William Tivey's grandfather, Isaac Tivey was a farm worker for a Thomas Brown, who may have been a relation.

First Marriage and Children
Lucretia Brown married Francis Tivey (1838-1905) in 1863 in London. Lucretia was the grand-daughter of the farmer that Frank's grandfather had worked on. They had seven children:
- Mary Ann Tivey (1865-1874)
- Agnes Lucretia Tivey (1866-1906)
- Arthur Cecil Tivey (1868-1923)
- Emily Alice Tivey (1870-1881)
- Amy Elizabeth Tivey (1872-1924)
- Louis Albert Tivey (1872-1947)
- Charles Ascot Tivey (1873-1954)
Frank left this family shortly after the birth of Charles. They apparently kept in touch, as Lucretia knew when Frank died.
