Mainpuri district is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh state of India, and Mainpuri town is the district headquarters. Mainpuri district is a part of Agra division. The last ruler of this district was a Chauhan and the fearless Chauhans are in a state of relative majority in this district. At present Mainpuri is well known for its production of a kind of tobacco which is known as Kapoori.
