Mary Bingham was born 1 April 1820 in St. Johnsbury, Caledonia County, Vermont, United States to Erastus Bingham (1798-1882) and Lucinda Gates (1797-1874) and died 25 September 1893 Ogden, Weber County, Utah, United States of unspecified causes. She married Elijah Norman Freeman (1822-1846) 17 April 1844 in Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois. She married Willard Trowbridge Snow (1811-1853) 1849 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. She married Lorin Farr (1820-1909) 2 December 1854 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.

Marriage and Family

1st Marriage: Elijah Freeman

Elijah Norman Freeman (1822-1846) was born 17 April 1822 in Vermont, son of Isaac F. and Lydia Freeman. He married Mary in Hancock, Illinois, and shortly after they removed to Nauvoo, where Elijah spent much of his time laboring on the Temple. Elijah and Mary left Nauvoo in 1846 with eighteen-month-old Elijah, Jr. (born in LaHarpe, 20 May 1845) who married Anna Maria Poulson in Salt Lake City, 11 March 1872, and Mary Ellen Farley in Salt Lake, 24 April 1876; died in Salt Lake, 14 March 1936).

They had traveled in Daniel Spencer's company as far as Council Bluffs, Iowa, where Elijah joined the Mormon Battalion as a member of Company "B." and marched with Mary's brothers, Thomas Bingham (1824-1889) and Erastus Bingham (1822-1906). Placed to work among the sick, he soon became ill himself and passed away in New Mexico, 28 November 1846. He was buried four miles south of Secorro, New Mexico, on the Rio Grande.

2nd Marriage: Willard Snow

Willard Trowbridge Snow (1811-1853) - veteran of Zion's Camp (1834) and first quorum of seventy. Died from malaria contracted after a mob attack in Denmark while serving as president of the LDS Scandinavian Mission. First LDS missionary to die overseas.

They had three children including twins that died in infancy.
