Mary was a daughter of Dr. Thomas Semmes and Sophia Wilson Potts. I have little information about her, but I do know that she moved in with her daughter Catharine after John Murray Forbes' death. This most likely how Catharine acquired the Forbes Silver pitchers, one of which passed down the Carl Wittichen line and the other one down the Florian Wittichen line.
