An interesting note about Mary is that one website claims she was a full-blooded Cherokee. However, the Sasser Surname DNA Project seems to suggest that her father is related to other Sasser families from North Carolina, most of which claim an English origin. Perhaps her mother was the Cherokee Indian, but it is unlikely to be proveable.
Also note that one source claims she was born in Dobbs County, Georgia. I have not found any record of such a county, but a Dobbs County, North Carolina did exist from 1758 to 1791 (five years before her approximate birth date). However, other sites say she and her siblings were all born in Georgia, so that is a more likely birth location.
She is supposed to be buried in "McCoy/Bragg Cemetery" in Jenkins County, Georgia. This appears to be the Bragg Family Cemetery where her son Jasper and daughter-in-law Susan are buried. It looks like there are at least 5 unknowns in that cemetery, so she could quite easily be among them.
