Edit Info

Michael Brown was born about 1780 in Pennsylvania to unknown parents. Michael's parents have not yet been discovered. However, there may be a clue as to who his parents may be, based on the marriages of his children. Abram Brown married Lydia England and Robert Brown married Sarah England. Lydia and Sarah are both daughters of Isaac England and Dinah Moore. Isaac and Dinah have another daughter who married another Brown, whose father is Thomas Brown. It is a possibility that this Thomas may be related to Michael; he may in fact be his brother. However, due to the lack of evidence, it is hard to determine.

Michael married Elizabeth Elder and they had several children. Michael is recorded to having owned 200 acres of land in Half Moon Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, according to a list of taxpayers of 1819. Michael died sometime in the 1840s, since he appears in the 1840 Census, and his wife his widowed in the 1850 Census.
