Mykolas Daukša (1861-bef1920), a.k.a. Michael Douse was a Lithuanian immigrant, a saloon proprietor, and one of the three brothers that proginated the Douse family of Centralia, Pennsylvania.

Children by wife HelenEdit

Michael and Helen had 11 children, 3 of whom died young.

1900 CensusEdit

Michael's family appeared as follows in the 1900 census of Conyngham Township, Columbia, Pennsylvania:

Michael reported his occupation as coal miner. Helen reported that she was the mother of 9 children, 7 of which were still living.

1910 CensusEdit

By 1910, Michael was the proprietor of a saloon in Centralia. Michael's family appeared as follows in the 1910 census of Centralia, Columbia County, Pennsylvania:

Helen reported that she was the mother of 11 children, 8 of which were still living. This means that daughter Anna married prior to 1910, whereas daughter Katie died. The two new children were son Thomas and daughter Helen. Daughter Helen doesn't appear in the census for some reason, although she appears in the 1920 census at age 16.

1920 CensusEdit

Michael had died prior to 1920, as his wife Helen reported being a widow. While the name is spelled Douse in the census, it is incorrectly indexed as Doner on Ancestry.com.

All male children list their occupation as coal miner.

1930 CensusEdit

Michael had died prior to 1930, as his wife Helen reported being a widow. Helen resided with her sons Joseph, Charles & Thomas, all three of which reported their occupation as coal miner. The household was listed as follows:
