Patience Throckmorton Coggeshall was born circa 1640 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island to John Throckmorton (1601-1683) and Rebecca Farrand (1610-1684) and died 8 April 1676 Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island of unspecified causes. She married John Coggeshall (1624-1708) 27 November 1655 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.
Biography
Patience Throckmorton, daughter of John Sr and Rebecca Ferrand Throckmorton, was born 1640 in Providence, RI and died September 7 1676 in Rhode Island. She married Major John Coggeshall, son of Major John and Mary Coggesshall who immigrated to America in 1632 on the ship, "Lion", as his second wife December 1655.
They were the parents of nine children: Freegift b Mar 1 1657, James b Feb 18 1660 m Mary Bull, daughter of Henry, Mary b Mar 10 1662, Joseph b May 31 1665, Rebecca b Jun 20 1667 m John Reynolds, Patience Aug 13 1669 m Samuel Rathbone Nov 3 1692, Benjamin b July 27 1662, Content b Mar 28 1674 and Content b May 10 1676. When Patience Throckmorton was born in 1639 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, her father, John, was 38 and her mother, Rebecca, was 34. She married John Coggeshall. She died on September 7, 1677, in Newport, Rhode Island, at the age of 38, and was buried there.
