René de Châlon was born 5 February 1519 in Breda, North Brabant, Netherlands to Heinrich von Nassau-Dillenburg (1483-1538) and Claudia de Châlon (1498-1521) and died 15 July 1544 in Saint-Dizier, Champagne-Ardenne, France of unspecified causes. He married Anna of Lorraine (1522-1568) 20 August 1540 JL in Bar-le-Duc, Lorraine, France.
