Biography[]
Life
Richard Haggar was born in Therfield, Hertfordshire. He was christened on 1 October 1758. Richard's parents were Richard Haggar (1724-1763) and Mary Nutting. His father died when he was just five years old, leaving Richard's mother to care for him and his siblings, Martha, John, William, Thomas and Mary. On 22 November 1789, in Therfield, Hertfordshire, Richard married Mary Bray. Richard died aged ninety-one in Royston Union Workhouse, Bassinbourne, Cambridgeshire. He was buried in his hometown of Therfield on 21 January 1849, three days after his death on the 18th. Richard died of 'decay of nature.'
