The Sunday Record; September 09, 2007 "obert F. (Bob) McDowell, of Middletown, died September 6, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center Horton Hospital. He was 56 years old. Mr. McDowell was born in Middletown on September 12, 1950, the son of the late Clinton L. and Rita (Ryerson) McDowell. Bob was a volunteer fireman for Port Jervis, N.Y., and Middletown Fire Departments. He loved helping people when he was needed and answered every call he could. Bob was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Halstead McDowell at home five loving daughters Caroline Brunetto and her husband Frank of Wawarsing, Renee McDowell and fiance Jay of Middletown, Elizabeth McDowell of Middletown, Tammy and Trisha McDowell of Norwich; three sons Robert McDowell Jr. of Ellenville, Clinton and Roger McDowell of Middletown; six grandchildren Elijah McDowell, Kristina Brunetto, Frank Brunetto, Kimberly VanCourt, Kathy Van Court and Julie McDowell; sister Sharon Hotalen and her husband Doug of Whitisboro, Texas; sisters-in-law Hariet Moran and Gladys Conkling; brothers-in-law Donald Marsh, Harold Cain and Robert Halstead; Uncle Gillmore Reyson of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandson Jeffery Allen Van Court; brothers Harold, Roger and Clinton David McDowell; sisters Veronica McDowell and Carol Marsh. Friends may call on Monday, September 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Morse Funeral Home Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown with a Religious Service Tuesday, September 11 at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home, with Deacon Richard Trapani officiating. Interment will follow at Westbrookville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has ask for donations to be made to Mrs. McDowell to help with the funeral. Arrangements are under the guidance of the Morse Funeral Home Inc., Middletown."
