Robert III Dampierre the Lion of Flanders, Count of Flanders, Count of Nevers, was born circa 1249 to Gui de Dampierre (1225-1305) and Mahaut de Béthune (c1220-1264) and died 17 September 1322 in Ieper, West Flanders, Flanders, Belgium of unspecified causes. He married Blanche of Naples (1250-1269) 1265 JL .
