"Robert, wo married Joane, daughter and co-heir to William de Curli; and the 41st Henry III. gave a mark, in gold, for respiting his knighthood. But afterwards he was one of those who, taking part with Monfort earl of Leicester, held out the castle of Kenilworth, for which his lands were seized; he, however. made redemption thereof, by compounding according to the rule of the Dicyum de Kenilworth."
