Roy Carsten Meyer was born 1 May 1898 in Lake City, Minnesota, United States to Henry A. Meyer (1871-1957) and Margaret Heitman (1873-1964) and died 9 December 1965 at Lake City Hospital in Lake City, Minnesota, United States of carcinoma of the right lung with metastases. He married Irene Anna Helena Bremer (1895-1980) 12 September 1919 in Lake City, Minnesota, United States. Ancestors are from Germany, Prussia.

Roy lived and worked on the same farm in Mount Pleasant township for the entirety of his life. He and his wife retired from farming in 1958.


Roy and his family were members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City.


He had surgery on October 10th in Rochester, but the doctors found his lung cancer to be inoperable. He returned home for a few weeks, then entered the hospital where he died. His funeral was at St. John's Church and he is buried in St. John's Oakwood cemetery.
