Russian language is the main language spoken in Russia. It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and an official language in Russia and all or part of half a dozen other countries.

Its written form uses a variant of Cyrillic script (which was developed from Greek, over a thousand years ago, and is used in dozens of languages in Europe and Asia).
