Salome Collins was born 30 August 1830 in Ohio to William Collins (?-1830) and Eunice Doty (?-?) and died 30 August 1914 in Sioux City, in Woodbury County, in Iowa, at the age of 84 years of unspecified causes. Salome married William S. Crane 1 December 1847 .
In the 1860's Salome and William Crane and their family moved first to Iowa and then to the part of Dakota Territory that became South Dakota.[1]
