Sophia von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf was born 31 May 1569 in Schloß Gottorf, Germany to Adolf von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf (1526-1586) and Christine von Hessen (1543-1604) and died 14 November 1634 in Lübz, Germany of unspecified causes. She married Johann VII. von Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1558-1592) 17 February 1588 in Reinbek, Germany.
