Squidoo is a relatively new free site that allows individuals to create pages (called "lenses") about anything they feel like featuring and to comment on others' lenses.
Royalties from advertising are shared between the site and the authors; authors may divert all or part of their earnings to charities.
Commons currently has Squidoo on its spam blacklist so that you cannot save a page that has a link to it. That is probably because of over-use of the commercial aspects of Squidoo.
