Sources and notes

₪ Wedding
At St. Jude's Episcopal Church, Glasgow, on the 20th inst., Thomas G. Forlong, Esq., youngest son of William Forlong, Esq. of Erdus[sic], Argyleshire, to Jessie Georgina, daughter of William Ross, Esq., Paymaster, 1st Royal Lanark Militia.

The Greenock Advertiser of 24 June 1856 reported the more likely place name "Erins" and added that the celebrant was "the Rev. Benjamin Mathie, Incumbent of St. Paul's Church, Hendon, Bishopwearnmouth" - http://search.findmypast.co.uk/bna/viewarticle?id=bl%2f0000970%2f18560624%2f023. Mathie was quite possibly a relative, perhaps the husband or son of Elizabeth Forlong (1784-).

¶ Death
  • Death possibly in Canada, where some of his descendants were born.
