LEVEL-CROSSING SMASH.
MURWILLUMBAH, Thursday.

At the inquest into the death of Thomas Henry Salmon, who was the victim of the level-crossing smash near Murwillumbah last week, the District Coroner (Mr. A. R. Black), returned a verdict of accidental death. He exonerated the railway officials from any blame. Two witnesses gave evidence that, after climbing the incline, the car appeared to stop on the line as if the engine had stalled.
