Thomas Hunt Morgan was a Confederate soldier in the American Civil War. Morgan participated in his brother John's raid (Morgan's Raid) into Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio in July 1863. Young Thomas's death greatly saddened his brother, General John Hunt Morgan, but did not dissuade him from invading Indiana 4 days later against express orders not to do so.
