I'm back.

Have you changed your username?

There you are again - just 3 months later. How and/or why? Or are you different from the Wigton Walker promoter? Robin Patterson 11:56, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back again!! Robin Patterson 14:32, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Just visiting. But I'm glad to talk with you again. Congratulations on crossing the 20K barrier, and congratulations on the upswing in visitations. Bill Willis 14:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Another relative tempts you back Edit

Hi, Bill. I guess it's easier for you to remember the "Bill" login than the other one.

We continue to grow, and the person-input forms are getting smarter. If you add a parent from the infobox, the form appears with the name and the spouse and the (original person) child already in place. We're missing the coding expert though. His paternity leave has lasted several months. Mine would too if my number of children had grown from 4 to 6.

I hope you're enjoying your genealogy wherever.

Yes, definitely easier. And yes, I continue to watch things unfold for y'll, and have noticed the growth. WeRelate, however, continues to offer significant advantages and promise. For what I'm doing now WeRelate serves my purposes better. But for other purposes FamilyPedia has some benefits and advantages. At some point I expect to return to work here, but I have miles to travel, and promises to keep.
I'm glad that Phlox felt he had the time to spend to help develop some of the infrastructure needed by FamilyPedia. The input forms boxes are a nice addition. But there's a lot more that's needed. My personal conclusion was that doing what was needed would be a fair near to exhausting process, taking too much time away from what I wanted to accomplish. So I can be sympathetic when Phlox found other things with higher priorities claiming his attention. Its unfortunate that that leaves the site a bit in the lurch. I fear that until Wikia commits to providing serious programming support, the climb will remain very steep. But the truth is, to do what needs to be done requires dedicated support. Doing bits and pieces can be fun, but the complexities of doing a genealogy program well, are staggering. Bill Willis 14:25, April 26, 2010 (UTC)
