Vladimir of Russia was born 22 April 1847 in Saint Petersburg to Alexander II of Russia (1818-1881) and Maria von Hessen und bei Rhein (1824-1880) and died 17 February 1909 in Saint Petersburg of unspecified causes. He married Marie von Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1854-1920) 28 August 1874 in Saint Petersburg.
