Wilhelm II. zu Solms-Braunfels was born 9 August 1609 in Greifenstein, Germany to Wilhelm I. zu Solms-Braunfels (1570-1635) and Maria Amalia von Nassau-Dillenburg (1582-1635) and died 19 July 1676 Greifenstein, Germany of unspecified causes. He married Johannette Sibylle zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich (1623-1651) 10 August 1636 in Dillenburg, Germany. He married Ernestine Sophie von Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst (1618-1701) 24 February 1652 in Schillingsfürst, Germany.
