William Reeves Callaway (March 2, 1820 - February 9, 1848) was the fifth child of Rev. Enoch Callaway (1792-1859) and Martha Reeves (1796-1879). He joined Sardis Baptist Church when he was 11 years old and went on to serve the church as Deacon, chorister, clerk and for fifty years superintendent of Sabbath School. He was a farmer, Sheriff of Wilkes County, served in the Georgia State Legislature and president of the Wilkes County Board of Education. He is buried in the Callaway Family Cemetery, Wilkes County, Georgia.
