Third of nine children of Richard Lee Taylor and Sarah Dabney Strother; he became a United States military leader and the twelfth President of the United States.
Biography
Zachary Taylor was born 24 November 1784 in Montebello, Barboursville, Orange County, Virginia, United States to Richard Lee Taylor (1744-1829) and Sarah Dabney Strother (1760-1822) and died 9 July 1850 Washington, D.C., United States of gastroenteritis. He married Margaret Mackall Smith (1788-1852) 21 June 1810 in Louisville, Kentucky, United States.
